Take your babys hand or footprints safely from home with these non-toxic, lead and latex free, infant safe ink print kits. Perfect for scrapbooks, photo albums, framing and home-made birth announcements. Unlike inkless print kits or stamp kits these ink plates pick up every fine detail of baby's print - just like the ones the hospitals use. Use more ink for very dark prints and less for lighter prints. Can be used for older children and adults too -- just apply multiply times to cover entire surface of hand or foot. Ink is messy because it's ink, but worth it for great prints and cleanup is easy with a small amount of baby oil and a baby wipe or wash with mild soap and water*. Ink+Baby hands/feet=Of course there's going to be a little mess. Follow the instructions perfectly and you won't have an issue. Make sure to have baby oil and wipes to clean baby's hands and feet off and ink will disappear completely. Product worked very well. My real only suggestion to them would be to make the ink pad slightly wider so the design is for hands as well as feet, but it worked just fine as it was.

If you don't follow the instructions you won't have the desired results.

I waited until my daughter was "high" on milk before attempting to get a footprint and handprint. Admittedly I may have been too ambitious as my daughter was only 3 months at a time. The kit comes with 2 plastic boards with ink (not an ink pad). So you can only use each one once or maybe twice. I got an okay footprint. However, when I tried for the hand she start scratching the ink kit. I couldn't get a good print and the black ink got under her nails. The ink was really hard to remove and ruined a washcloth. For several weeks under her nails was black - it looked like she worked on cars!
